Frank Smith - ESQ, Board Chair
Frank has over 18 years of experience practicing law and many years of business experience, helping run a family business. Mr. Smith cut his teeth in the Landlord/Tenant courts in New York City, expanding his practice to ultimately become an attorney that practice both litigation and transactional work. His clients include both domestic and international in the space of healthcare, cosmetics, real estate and financial. He is well steeped in the anti-trafficking Non-for-profit space as he sits on the board for Phantom Rescue and Fireball Run. Frank has been on the Executive Board for 5 years. He resides in Cooper City, Florida with his wife and children.
Dana Clary - Performance Coach - Treasurer
Dana brings decades of board and board leadership experience. Starting her career with United Way, then Disney swept her away to be one of the youngest PR professionals on the team. Dana’s PR experience lead her to taking on many marketing and branding leadership roles in the Orlando area with organizations such as Create and SMT. She currently makes a difference as a performance coach with Landmark Worldwide on their personal coaching and development team. She resides in New Smyrna Beach with her two fur babies.
Mallory Taylor - Secretary
Mallory has over 14 years of retail management/merchandising experience. She's skilled at Increase sales through effective merchandising product knowledge and hiring/training and team development. Mallory was with Jan on her first trip to Ethiopia and was deeply moved by the her experience as well. She brings her business acumen , high energy and self -motivation to coordinating and working with all of our interns. She lives in Orlando with her husband and two terrific children. Mallory has been involved with fundraisers and events and has now been on our board for 3 years.

Jan Edwards - Founder and President
Jan has extensive leadership, speaking and training expertise with Fortune 100 companies. After traveling to Ethiopia and learning about human trafficking and exploitation, she wanted do so something about it. She developed an curriculum that has been delivered across in the country to youth and families. She has been instrumental in bringing awareness to this silent crime of trafficking to our community and around the country. She's a Co-Chair of the Central Florida Human Trafficking Task Force, Univ of Central Florida Criminal Justice Advisory Board, Hillsborough County Public School Human Trafficking Task force and is the creator of OCPS School Board Human Trafficking Prevention and Awareness Advisory Committee along with a National Advocacy Working Group. She brings passion, drive, and a commitment to make a difference out in the world such that children can reach their full potential.

Ezri Damschroder - Event and Educational Program Partner
Ezri started off as an intern from UCF and jumped right in tackling Social Media posts and writing copy. Once the world opened up again, Ezri joined in the fun of doing events for us. She just kept showing up, so we gave her a job! Along with being a trainer out in the community to educate young people on how to stay safe, she loves Star Wars and DC comics. She graduated from UCF with a degree in Criminal Justice and loves being one of our Education Program Partners empowering kids to disrupt the cycle and stay safe online.
Anne Hager - Intern Lead and Educational Program Partner
Anne graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. After working with Youth and Shelter Services in Iowa for many years, she took a chance and moved to Orlando to work with us in 2022. We are so grateful she did! She is an amazing trainer and facilitator on such a challenging topic. She loves educating youth and is thrilled to be out in the community making a difference.
Angela M. Doniphan, Community Outreach Partner - Angela is a long-time resident in Central Florida. She retired from her position at Walt Disney World as a member of the Resort Experience Cast member. She tapped into her event planning and coordination skills for 1300+ employees through partnership with staff, internal and external vendors and brings that expertise to Paving the Way Foundation. If you see her out and about she's in search of other organizations to collaborate with as we educate and empower students and their parents.
Sandra Brown - Education Program Partner Sandra holds a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Delaware State University and an MSW Degree from Columbia University. She has worked with disadvantaged youth for over twenty years in New York City and locally as an Area Director with Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. She is especially talented in engaging staff, volunteers and youth in the development of programs and unique opportunities to enhance their life experiences. Sandra was also a member of the Orlando Civilian Police Academy, where she gained a great deal of knowledge about crime and safety. She often speaks with youth and community groups regarding personal safety strategies.
Ashley Elliot - Organizational Partner Ashley is a dedicated professional in the Information Technology / Software space with over ten years of experience serving the amazing Orlando community. With a background in technical recruiting, sales, marketing, and management; she loves building relationships, helping people succeed, and growing businesses. My superpower is relationship building :) She's also a health Coach with a certification from at The Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She has an amazing husband and two boys who are the lights of her life. Ashley is the person is managing all of the nitty gritty in our operations to ensure our program delivery stays on point and out in the community!
Linsay Anderson - Education Program Partner
Linsay is a labor and delivery nurse who has worked with human trafficking survivors, held donation drives, and advocated for human trafficking since 2019 after having an eye opening personal experience with human trafficking. Linsay is now an Education Program Partner in the Tampa and Orlando areas and very excited to continue using her voice for change to disrupt the cycle of child exploitation and human trafficking.
Andrew Denizard - Education Program Partner
Andrew is a proud veteran of the US Army who has transitioned into a fulfilling career in accounts receivable management. He is deeply committed to his family, sharing my life with his wife and kids. .He is also am an active member of the Orlando community, passionately supporting local flag football leagues, ranging from adult to youth divisions. He loves being a part of the team and to furthering this important education and safety of our children across the community and across the world.
Kim Praniewicz - Marketing Partner - Kim is an accomplished Marketing and Public Relations consultant recognized and awarded for strategic plans and processes that drive brand development, integration of marketing strategies, positioning partnerships and media campaigns. She is an Orlando Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Honoree, advocate for youth and families using her many marketing skill and talents.
Roderick Young- Education Program Partner Roderick is a veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University where he earned a Master’s degree in School Counseling. Currently serving in the public school system, Roderick looks to connect with youth and empower them about staying safe online and disrupting the cycle of human trafficking as a member of the Paving The Way Foundation team.
Sophia Henke - Education Program Partner We seem to have a theme brewing. Sophia also started off as an Intern. She liked what we do so much and we liked having her with us training, we invited her to become a program partner. She graduates in May 2024 with her BS in Criminal Justice and will be working with us while she attends Grad School. She is a professionally trained ballet dancer and loves to volunteer her time working with kids learning how to dance!
Paula Berry - Data Entry Partner - Paula retired 12 years ago and likes to keep busy. She worked as an Administrative Assistant, Secretary, Accounts Payable Clerk, processed Union payroll and clerk. For fun, she crochets and knits for family and friends. She always has at least one project going at all times. Sometimes it’s two or three. She has two cats that keep her company and is an avid Gardner. She loves the mission of Paving the Way Foundation and being a part of making a difference for the community.

Cassandra is a Student Success Coach for City Year, attended one of our staff trainings and was drawn by the topic, the team and what we are doing out in the community. She brings extensive experience with the undeserved youth population in Central Florida. As graduate of Stetson University with a BS in Psychology and Sociology she is committed to making a difference with kids, empowering them to fully grasp their worth and that they matter.

Maurice (Mo) Edwards - Law Enforcement/Human Trafficking Educator
Maurice T. Edwards works for NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) as an Analyst Supervisor working closely with local Law Enforcement to help find missing children. He is a former Human Trafficking Detective with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office in Seminole County, Florida since 2006. He was assigned to the Youth Intervention Services Unit. His responsibilities included the investigation of missing juveniles and human trafficking cases. He was also a Task Force Officer with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), assigned to the Innocent Images Task Force for human trafficking cases. Mo worked with local, state, and federal agencies in pursuit of the most comprehensive response and investigation to the crime of human trafficking. He is a member of the International Association of Human Trafficking Investigators (IAHTI) and serves as a human trafficking trainer. Mo routinely travels throughout the country to educate, provide awareness, and resources to law enforcement and civilians to combat human trafficking
Sacsha Balzar - International Law
Sascha is our newest board member. He has practiced law for over 18 years locally and abroad. Sacsha has extensive business and international law, law enforcement and undercover experience. He has an MBA and his law degree from an renowned international university. He currently sits on the board of Vilo Media, LTD out of the UK, as the Director of Development and resides in Central Florida with his wife and children. Sacsha has been on our board for 2 years.
Nada Haddad - Child Advocate and Attorney
Nada has dedicated her life to serving others. Ms. Haddad began her career in law as an immigration defense attorney, traveling across the United States representing clients from all over the world. Ms. Haddad defended the most vulnerable population of immigrants, asylum seekers, victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and sexual violence, gang violence, and more specifically, those within the international deaf community. Ms. Haddad currently works in real estate and property tax law and sits on the board for The Portico Housing Solutions, is the Chair of the Liaison Subcommittee for the Governmental Public Policy and Advocacy Committee of the Florida Bar.
Dr. Jordan Rodriquez - Sr. Advisor for Prevention Education Curriculum and Design.
Jordan Rodriquez is the new Principal at Choices in Learning Charter Elementary School and Education Analyst News 6 WKMG. He's the former principal of Seminole High school, Seminole counties largest school. He stood for creating an engaging, enriching and positive student experience at his school, creating caring, effective citizens for our community. Jordan received is B.S, M.A. and Ph.D. in Education at University of Central Florida. He has spent over 17 years in as an educator, Dean and Principal in Seminole County Florida, working with Lake Howell HS, Seminole HS, Winter Springs HS and Rock Lake Middle school. He is masterful as program development, leadership, community partnerships and creating an environment where teachers and students thrive. Jordan is trained in Behavioral Support, School Safe Programs and Instructional Leadership.

Cortnie Fetzler - Mail Solutions
Cortnie has been a Bookkeeper for over 18 years. Always working hard Cortnie would work up to 3 different jobs from the time she began her very first job and because of this she has a vast skill set and knowledge in a variety of fields. She is just as passionate about your business as she is her own and enjoys seeing others succeed. Understanding the importance of detailed record keeping Cortnie has excelled and been recognized for her diligence and efficiency. Cortnie has experience on everything from day to day bookkeeping, catch-up bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, and even enjoys re-designing bookkeeping systems, as well as helping businesses learn how to find new ways to work smarter, and not harder, when it comes to their paperwork. Denise Calderon - Denise Calderon, CPA
Denise has worked in the non-profit industry as a Director of Finance for many years as well as working as a CPA. Prior to working as an accountant, she worked for a large South Florida Property Management company as their bookkeeper and property manager. She has over 25 years of accounting experience. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master of Taxation from Florida Atlantic University. Denise fulfills all her tax, accounting, and property manager Continuous Professional Education (CPE) requirements and stays current with the laws and standards to provide high-quality services. She values open communicating with her clients and establishing ongoing relationships while striving to give each client personalized attention and provide resolution.
Scott Martin - Scott Martin, Inc.
Scott's been working as a fractional Chief Financial Officer in finance focusing on early-stage technology companies for the past 20 years. He started out in Local government in Florida then quickly moved into private finance assisting companies with raising capital, setting growth strategies, assessing risk management and many other areas of strategic planning. He is also works with creating governance and accounting systems for high-wealth crypto-currency traders and influencers. Scott also has been a board member as well as providing management support to several not for profit organizations, including churches and tech associations. He recently moved to Colorado from Florida and is very much enjoying the changes of seasons.
Marci LaRouech - Saey Management Consulitng
Marci is an accomplished CEO with a passion for empowering businesses, leads Seay Management Consultants. Marci’s extensive experience as an executive leader has fueled success across diverse organizations. She launched her human resources career in Orlando at CoAdvantage in 2006. Prior to joining Seay Management Consultants, Marci led Makai HR, an award-winning HR organization in Honolulu, HI. Her expertise lies in fostering exceptional client relationships, driving innovation, developing leaders, and optimizing operations. She is a graduate of North Park University with honors and a passionate advocate for social causes. Marci recently served on the boards of directors for YWCA of Hawaii and the Institute for Human Services. Marci is an active member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Understanding the importance of detailed record keeping Cortnie has excelled and been recognized for her diligence and efficiency. Cortnie has experience on everything from day to day bookkeeping, catch-up bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, and even enjoys re-designing bookkeeping systems, as well as helping businesses learn how to find new ways to work smarter, and not harder, when it comes to their paperwork. Cortnie loves to help her clients understand the financials of their business and find new ways to cut expenses and drive revenue. Cortnie has expert knowledge in all things Quickbooks. She enjoys helping business owners learn how to continue to love their business so they can enjoy a balanced home/work life.
Denise Calderon - Denise Calderon, CPA
Denise has worked in the non-profit industry as a Director of Finance for many years as well as working as a CPA. Prior to working as an accountant, she worked for a large South Florida Property Management company as their bookkeeper and property manager. She has over 25 years of accounting experience. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and a Master of Taxation from Florida Atlantic University. Denise fulfills all her tax, accounting, and property manager Continuous Professional Education (CPE) requirements and stays current with the laws and standards to provide high-quality services. She values open communicating with her clients and establishing ongoing relationships while striving to give each client personalized attention and provide resolution.
Scott Martin - Scott Martin, Inc.
Scott's been working as a fractional Chief Financial Officer in finance focusing on early-stage technology companies for the past 20 years. He started out in Local government in Florida then quickly moved into private finance assisting companies with raising capital, setting growth strategies, assessing risk management and many other areas of strategic planning. He is also works with creating governance and accounting systems for high-wealth crypto-currency traders and influencers. Scott also has been a board member as well as providing management support to several not for profit organizations, including churches and tech associations. He recently moved to Colorado from Florida and is very much enjoying the changes of seasons.
Marci LaRouech - Saey Management Consulitng
Marci is an accomplished CEO with a passion for empowering businesses, leads Seay Management Consultants. Marci’s extensive experience as an executive leader has fueled success across diverse organizations. She launched her human resources career in Orlando at CoAdvantage in 2006. Prior to joining Seay Management Consultants, Marci led Makai HR, an award-winning HR organization in Honolulu, HI. Her expertise lies in fostering exceptional client relationships, driving innovation, developing leaders, and optimizing operations. She is a graduate of North Park University with honors and a passionate advocate for social causes. Marci recently served on the boards of directors for YWCA of Hawaii and the Institute for Human Services. Marci is an active member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Residing in Orlando, Florida, Marci enjoys hiking, reading, attending concerts, and exploring the world.

Survivor Leadership
We have an incredible team of Survivor Leaders that work closely with us to ensure we continue to be survivor informed and guided. This group is comprised of as lived experts and mental health professionals. Due to the sensitive nature of this, their names and pictures are not posted for their safety. They are our hero's and we are forever grateful for them sharing their wisdom with us.

We have 15 Volunteers and Advocates throughout the country - from Phoenix to Ft. Lauderdale, Columbia SC, Miami to Jacksonville, FL and up the coast to Washington D.C. They are trained to lead a conversation following our award winning film, Trapped in the Trade to empower and educate our kids.
Together we've educated and trained over 33,000 youth, parents and teachers in the past seven years. We impact our communities through powerful conversations saving our children from being lured into this dark world.
